Mott MacDonald celebrated moving into its new Manchester office in the heart of the city with the help of the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.
The space at One Piccadilly Gardens provides a hub for 330 staff who provide engineering, development and management consultancy services across buildings, defence, water, energy, transport and environment and society markets.
The team in Manchester, that includes new graduates and apprentices, support a wide range of regional and national clients including Network Rail, NHS, Peel and United Utilities while also contributing to both national and global projects.
Mott MacDonald’s roots in Greater Manchester run deep. From pioneering Metrolink, designing the Trafford Centre and working on Manchester Airport for the past 25 years, Mott MacDonald has been a trusted partner in the city’s evolution for decades.
It continues to work on major projects in the area, supporting Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) with its expansion proposals for the Bee Network to Stockport and the implementation of tram-train, and delivering transformative infrastructure upgrades including the £10M investment to improve accessibility and passenger experience at Salford Central station.
Mott MacDonald was also recently appointed by TfGM to its Transport Professional Services Framework reinforcing a long-standing commitment to shaping sustainable, inclusive and future-ready transport infrastructure across the North.
We have an enduring partnership with Greater Manchester, and this move builds on that legacy, enabling us to continue supporting Greater Manchester’s growth journey toward greater opportunity, sustainability and regional pride.Ken Norbury
