Mott MacDonald has appointed Paul McCormick as its market leader for transport in Australia. In this role, Paul will shape the strategic direction of the transport business nationally, strengthen engagement with clients and industry partners, and lead major work‑winning and delivery efforts that support the organisation’s continued growth across the region.
Paul is a highly respected infrastructure executive with more than 30 years’ experience delivering complex, multi‑billion‑dollar transport programmes across Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India. His career includes senior leadership roles client-side and in consulting.
Most recently, Paul served as executive director for Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) leading several of Australia’s largest $Bn transport programs; Western Harbour Tunnel, Sydney Gateway and WestConnex, providing strategic leadership across integrated transport delivery programs. Internationally, in previous companies he has played a central role in securing and delivering significant major road and rail infrastructure projects such as High Speed 2, National Highways programmes, Olympics infrastructure and Qatar Expressways. His experience in global delivery models, governance and industry partnerships will support the continued development of Mott MacDonald’s transport offering in Australia and the wider region.

Paul is a Chartered Civil Engineer and is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Railway Engineering Institution and the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation, reflecting his long‑standing contribution to the transport and infrastructure sectors.

Michael has more than 35 years of experience, and since 2012, he has used his pragmatic leadership and innovative design acumen to help deliver for Sydney Metro.
