We’re involved in solving a variety of urgent social, environmental, and economic challenges. Our experts have taken leading roles in many of the world’s most high profile infrastructure and development projects so we have plenty of great stories, but to continue our success we need to attract the right people to work for us. We know how important it is to shout about our people and why they work here so we have a small team dedicated to recruitment marketing that help us stand out from the busy crowd.

Due to a member of our team moving to a new role within the company, we’re looking for someone to join us on a 12-month contract in our central Croydon office. In this role you’ll get the opportunity to develop your writing and marketing skills within a close-knit team. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t considered working in recruitment marketing before, we’re hoping this advert shows that we take finding the right people seriously and inspires you.

Job Description

Spreading the word
We’re constantly trying to find and recruit the right people for our business which means we need to consistently provide information to convince people they should consider working for us. This is where you come in. Working with colleagues from across the company, but closely with a dedicated marketing executive, you’ll write copy for a range of media; social media, careers pages, job boards, to name a few. It doesn’t stop there. You’ll need to coordinate getting content from people, keep an eye on sites that contain information about us, update sites with new or edited content or graphics, and keep our work tracker up to date so we always know what needs to get done.

Being a brand ambassador
It’s not always easy to recruit the right people so everyone plays a part in ensuring potential candidates have a positive impression of our company. This includes those that contact us about jobs, regardless of whether we have the right role for them or not, and you’ll respond to the emails that come to our central team. We'd like someone that can act as a main point of contact for our recruiters and other staff, answering their questions about recruitment marketing and how they can do things differently themselves. You’ll also sometimes put together presentations to provide information about how we’re doing.

Candidate Specification

Do you have what it takes?
We’re after a confident communicator; someone who loves writing and is a stickler for spelling, grammar, and formatting. You need to appreciate that we’re a large company with a strong brand and with that our own writing style which you’ll have to learn and apply to your work. If you have experience doing this somewhere else that’s great, but it isn’t essential because we’ll give you the help you need to pick it up. It’s also important that you know how to adapt your writing as you’ll be doing it for different media, all of which need subtle copy changes to suit the audience.

This role supports the way we market ourselves as a great place to work, so this should be something that interests you and you must be enthusiastic to learn about the fast-paced world of recruitment. You’ll work with people from across the company so need to be personable and professional. To be great in the role we think you need to be proactive, curious, comfortable with approaching people, and someone that isn’t afraid to say no. Finally, we should point out that this is a busy role so you’ll need to keep on top of things and pay attention to detail in your work.
