Early careers recruitment advisor

Our early recruitment team works in partnership with the business to recruit the best graduates and interns across sector specific schemes for multiple UK locations.
As part of this busy but friendly team, you will support a large volume of student/graduate applications through our efficient applicant tracking system (ATS), and always being a helpful and supportive coach to the students who have a big task ahead of them.

The early careers recruitment team is part of the wider support services function who are the driving force behind our organisation enabling us to run efficiently and effectively.
The team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice, best practise and technology to all areas of our business specifically designed for our global reach.

Job Description

You will take responsibility for the recruitment of graduates and interns within a designated business area.
This includes:
  • Working closely with your hiring managers to fully understand their requirements and coaching them on the recruitment process
  • Using our ATS (Brassring) to review large numbers of online applications and making decisions on their suitability for live graduate and intern vacancies
  • Arranging interviews using the relevant tools (Brassring and Outlook)
  • Verbally providing feedback to candidates and managing the offer process
Another essential aspect of a successful recruitment campaign is our campus activity.
This is a great opportunity to travel the country and meet lots of students and potential applicants (and future Mott MacDonald graduates!)
The main purpose for the campus activity is to introduce students to Mott MacDonald; what we do; and what we can offer.
This is also a great opportunity to build on-campus relationships with careers services and other key university contacts.

The team are always reviewing and evolving their service to remain one of the top choices for graduates within our industry.
You will be given the opportunity to work on a range of projects to suit your skills; experience; and interests.
Here are some examples
  • Identify new opportunities for media advertising and working with existing media groups
  • Work alongside the marketing team to deliver a social media campaign
  • Submission of various graduate and apprentice awards

Candidate Specification

You will have recruitment experience with a desire to work within the early careers space.
Ideally you will have graduate / intern recruitment experience but training can be provided for an experienced recruiter who has the drive to learn and the desire to turn their hand to high volume recruitment.
We’re also looking for these skills:
  • Able to confidently talk to a wide range of people (students to senior managers)
  • Knowledge of recruitment selection and assessment practices
  • Works well as a team member
  • The role allows individuals to work independently and therefore you need to be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise competing and changing demands
  • Willing and able to travel to attend graduate events (can be up to 2 nights per week during the busy periods of milk round)
  • Graduate calibre
  • Able to confidently use a range of IT systems, including an ATS; and Microsoft packages – specifically Outlook; PowerPoint; Excel (basic); and Word.
It is desirable that you have the following experience:
  • Working in an organisation who use psychometric assessments
  • Able to work across multiple projects at any one time
  • Able to influence others and drive projects forward
  • Working in a complex matrix organisation
  • Working with an applicant tracking system
