Job Description

Mott MacDonald is the consultant of choice for a wide range of power clients. We offer world leading engineering services across the realm of power delivery (transmission and distribution); including: owner's engineering, design, specialist services and interface engineering. We're looking for a power delivery business development leader to join the team to further develop our offering to our existing and new clients.

This new role is critical for building and maintaining Mott MacDonald’s relationships with our clients, planning the accounts and building a client centric experience. You'll be expected to win great work, grow the account to maximize opportunity for Mott MacDonald, and be accountable for the delivery of excellent projects. You'll provide support ensuring that client’s projects are delivered to time, cost and quality and that Mott MacDonald is commercially successful. You'll play a lead role in gaining trust with our clients and key stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:
  • Developing strong and robust client relationships
  • Growing and developing key Accounts within Mott MacDonald in response to organizational needs and Mott MacDonald strategy
  • Identifying opportunities and turning them into prospects
  • Driving the bidding process, converting prospects into projects ensuring bids are technically and commercially sound
  • Delivering commercially robust projects and quality outcomes for Clients to budget on schedule through project teams
  • Managing risk and commercial performance on the projects for their Accounts.
  • Working effectively with the wider Mott MacDonald team to bring the right resources to deliver the project to the Client’s satisfaction and meeting Mott MacDonald’s profit or contribution targets
  • Running appropriate account meetings with client and senior level management involvement
  • Addressing client’s issues and fulfilling their aspirations on sustainability

Candidate Specification

Mott MacDonald is one of the largest power consultancies in the world, with over 1,400 staff working directly on power-related projects. We are seen as the world leaders in the energy sector and for more than 100 years, we've delivered the industry's most prestigious and challenging assignments, playing a leading role on some of the world's milestone energy projects. We're looking for an individual to come on board and further develop our successes in the power delivery realm. We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
  • 10+ years' experience in the power/power delivery sector
  • Proven experience in a business development position
  • An intricate knowledge of the North America power delivery realm
  • Understanding of who the clients are in the market and relationships with them
  • ​A bachelor's degree in a relatable discipline is desirable
  • A PE is desirable
