Mechanical engineer - thermal power

We’re looking for an early career professional (ECP) to join our Thermal Generation team. Our work in this area includes local and international clients and travel will be a part of the role.

Job Description

Our engineers are involved in many aspects of power engineering including the development and construction of new power generation projects to help meet energy related challenges. It’s a varied role so you’ll really be able to get stuck in with site visits, studies, research and analysis. The team has a big variety of projects for you to work on including helping power plant owners develop new projects and advising investors on the pros and cons of new projects. You’ll likely work on combined cycle gas turbine, biomass and energy from waste power and cogeneration plants, as well as have opportunities to work on other technologies such as geothermal, solar and wind. The projects can be located anywhere in the world so the role is challenging and interesting. You’ll be working as an integral part of a large multidisciplinary, multi-skilled team of engineers spread across various offices in Europe, Africa and Latin America.

To apply for this scheme, you’ll have achieved a 2.1 or above in a mechanical engineering degree. You should be able to demonstrate your interest in power generation or energy through relevant experience and/or previous work experience.

Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently, and to prioritise tasks;

Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members;

·



Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail, and ability to demonstrate good report writing;

·



Language skills would be desirable (French, Spanish or Italian).
