Senior Process Engineer
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide specialist technical input across a broad range of wastewater process engineering projects, working on some of the largest wastewater projects in the country.
You will provide critical support to our framework with Thames Water, in addition to servicing our wider client base - interfacing with other technical disciplines to ensure the delivery of innovative solutions across a diverse range of municipal water projects.
Using your process engineering skills, you will be responsible for feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design stages of project development, supporting in securing profitable work and for the successful delivery of projects. You will be working independently while also leading teams within a collaborative environment and interacting with a range of staff and clients.
Furthermore, you will represent the company in client meetings, mentor junior team members, and provide technical and professional guidance to assist their development.
Key duties might include:
Wastewater treatment plant design
Process simulation modelling
Treatment plant costing evaluation
Analysis of data to assess performance
Site health checks
Production of basis of design, process options calculations and reports
Creation of process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams
Development of supplier performance specifications
Creation of process control philosophy and commissioning plans.

Chartered or Incorporated with the IChemE or other relevant professional body (or pursuing Chartership)
Significant technical wastewater process engineering experience.
Demonstrable specialist experience in biological wastewater treatment, including nutrient removal, phosphorous removal and tertiary wastewater treatment
Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams, managing clients and other project stakeholders
Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
Full UK driving licence - able to travel to other offices and sites, subject to flexible working

The Reading team is strategically placed to support the Thames Water region with a number of on-going major projects, including client support roles. Further afield, the team is engaged supporting clients such as Southern Water, Affinity Water, Wessex Water & Portsmouth Water, our D&B business MMB, and our international business. As a result, we have exciting opportunities for process engineers with strong wastewater industry experience to join our growing team in Reading. These positions can be offered on either a full-time or a part-time basis.
