IT Solutions Specialist – Business Applications

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other members of the Business Applications team, the IT Operations centre and Product teams to support the system
  • Work with SAP Customer Care to report escalate and manage issues requiring their support
  • Become the key IT contact for the functional teams involved in supporting and managing Connect People
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, business SMEs & technical colleagues to understand how the system is best used to support the business
  • Participate in the ongoing monitoring and management of the system
  • Manage IT Incidents escalated to level 4 support
  • Focus on identification and resolution of Problems impacting system use
  • Propose changes required to improve the system in response to Incidents, Problems and proactive review

Candidate Specification

This position requires a self-motivated individual who can operate in a fast-paced & continually evolving context. You will have or develop an in-depth understanding of the system and how it is used. You will have solid technical experience in all aspects maintaining & supporting It systems. You are willing to learn new IT & business skills and experiences.

Prior experience working with SAP Successfactors or other SAP products is advantageous however a candidate with the right credentials may be able to pick this up.

Required academic and professional qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Required competencies / skills / experiences
  • Demonstrable experience of providing IT support and expertise across enterprise-wide systems
  • Good understanding of end-to-end delivery processes / methodologies and standards aligning with industry best practice.
  • Effective communication skills to be able to report on progress and answer technical questions from vendors, business partners & IT colleagues
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels with both internal and external parties
  • Good stakeholder communication skills with the ability to question and challenge; put forward innovative ideas and gain buy-in through key working relationships

Connect Business and Connect People are major transformational programmes that are implementing enterprise cloud solutions globally for Mott MacDonald and we are seeking a Solution Specialist to join our team.
This team provides the IT support services across the range of software applications within the ERP environment which is used by our business colleagues to operate efficiently & effectively with their clients & end users

The role of the IT Solution Specialist – Business Applications is a key role in the ongoing support and management of our Business Applications with a particular focus on, but not limited to Connect People, our SAP SuccessFactors implementation.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to establish themselves as the focal point for 4th level IT support and management of Connect People, working with the Functional leads and programme team and to play a key role in future phases of the programme.
Operational excellence is key to delivery, coupled with clear thinking on how best to continually optimise that delivery.
