IT Specialist – Testing

Job Description
Your key duties will include:-
  • shape the establishment & proactive evolution of testing capabilities across the Mott MacDonald IT organisation
  • prepare and maintain test relevant documentation including Use Cases, Scenarios and Test Cases for the testing of various systems
  • undertake agreed functional and non-functional test types, User Acceptance Test related activities to ensure appropriate test coverage
  • ensure that test scenarios and cases are prepared in a structured way, prioritised to reflect business or technical priorities and are approved by appropriate stakeholders
  • conduct timely test execution as part of the functional and non-functional test cycles
  • report on testing progress and defects during the test design & test execution phases

Candidate Specification
Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:-
  • Good computer literacy and commercial IT infrastructure exposure
  • Demonstrable experience of software testing and quality assurance
Desired academic, professional qualifications and experience:-
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) or equivalent
  • ISEB Foundation in Software Testing or equivalent
  • User Acceptance Test Management experience
  • Previous experience of testing ERP solutions
Essential expertise/skills:-
  • Appreciation of test and release standards and approaches, aligning with industry best practice
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels with both internal and external parties
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to question and examine; put forward new ideas and gain buy-in through key working relationships
  • Ability to translate processes into use cases, scenarios and test cases to ensure all key requirements/ Business processes are tested
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • ISTQB Certification or equivalent
  • Experience in both automated and manual testing techniques
  • Functional and non-functional testing expertise
  • Strong technical awareness & knowledge of latest testing methodologies and tools
  • Good grasp of test and release methodologies and process to minimise risk and assure quality prior to the process and/or system implementations
  • Previously worked in a structured environment such as ITIL, Agile, Waterfall
  • Previous experience of working with test and defect management tools like JIRA, TestRail etc
