Tunnel Engineer

Job Description:

• Involved in a range of tunnelling projects.  The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development:
• Be involved in the delivery of a wide range of engineering projects including deep underground excavations, and MRT projects and Road Tunnel Projects.
• Working with offices across the Asia Pacific Region.
• Be involved in the various stages of projects including strategy evaluation, detailed appraisal, concept development, detailed design and administration of contracts.
• A role in driving the unit tunnels practice plan.
• Prepare and outline detailed tunnel/geotechnical engineering designs and calculations.
• Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and authority organisations
• Visiting construction sites to carry out site inspection and site supervision
• Coordinate with various parties (team members, clients, government authorities) on design and stakeholder interface.
• Liaising and working together within the project team of engineers and drafters
• Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor.

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering from an accredited University.
• A masters degree in geotechnics or related subject is advantageous.
• Specialisation in tunnels and tunnelling during university studies is advantageous.
• 1–5 years design experience in tunnels and underground construction works, retaining systems and site investigation.
• A strong understanding and background in geology and site investigation.
• Strong written and oral communication ability.
• Ambitious, highly motivated and strong interest in tunnels and tunnelling.
• Computer literate and familiar with the latest design software packages, AI and technology.
