Tunnel Engineer
Job Description:
- Involved in a range of tunnelling projects. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development:
- Be involved in the delivery of a wide range of engineering projects including deep underground excavations, and MRT projects and Road Tunnel Projects.
- Working with offices across the Asia Pacific Region.
- Be involved in the various stages of projects including strategy evaluation, detailed appraisal, concept development, detailed design and administration of contracts.
- A role in driving the unit tunnels practice plan.
- Prepare and outline detailed tunnel/geotechnical engineering designs and calculations.
- Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and authority organisations
- Visiting construction sites to carry out site inspection and site supervision
- Coordinate with various parties (team members, clients, government authorities) on design and stakeholder interface.
- Liaising and working together within the project team of engineers and drafters
- Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering from an accredited University.
- A masters degree in geotechnics or related subject is advantageous.
- Specialisation in tunnels and tunnelling during university studies is advantageous.
- 1–5 years design experience in tunnels and underground construction works, retaining systems and site investigation.
- A strong understanding and background in geology and site investigation.
- Strong written and oral communication ability.
- Ambitious, highly motivated and strong interest in tunnels and tunnelling.
- Computer literate and familiar with the latest design software packages, AI and technology.
