Construction is underway on the €140 million Yozgat Education and Research Hospital public-private partnership (PPP) project in Turkey. Mott MacDonald acted as lenders’ technical and environmental advisor during the project’s financing and is now providing construction and operational monitoring services in an ongoing role.
Covering 141,000 sq m, the hospital will provide a total of 475 beds once complete. It will comprise a screening and education centre as well as dedicated intensive care, paediatric, oncology, maternity, renal and pathology facilities.
During the project’s financing, Mott MacDonald assisted with due diligence report preparation and stakeholder and payment mechanism analysis. The consultancy also provided contract, design, construction, cost, facilities management, environmental and social reviews.
Burak Sencer, Mott MacDonald’s country manager for Turkey, said: “Yozgat is the fourth healthcare PPP financing in Turkey to reach financial close following Adana, Mersin and Bilkent. Mott MacDonald is technical advisor on nine projects in the overall programme, reaffirming our position as the pre-eminent lenders' technical advisor in global PPP markets.”
Construction of the Yozgat Education and Research Hospital is expected to take two years, which will be followed by a 25-year concession period.
