Mott MacDonald has been appointed as building services engineer by Spelthorne Borough Council on Ceaser Court, a £10 million residential development in Sunbury-on-Thames, UK.
The development will convert disused commercial offices at Benwell House into 55 one and two-bedroom apartments by extending the existing building. The project is part of the council’s plans to relieve housing pressure in the local area by providing quality and affordable rental accommodation.
Mott MacDonald will deliver mechanical, electrical and public health engineering services for both the repurposed and new build elements of the project. The consultancy will also provide technical advice on sustainability aspects of the scheme, which will include LED lighting, whole house ventilation and efficient underfloor heating systems. Solar photovoltaics will also be installed, which will be capable of generating 10% of the energy needed for the development on-site.
Matthew Starr, Mott MacDonald’s project director, said: “Once complete, Ceaser Court will be an efficient and sustainable housing development that will be well located for local transport links, as it will be adjacent to both Sunbury rail station and the M3.”
Construction of Ceaser Court is due to be completed in 2020.
