Mott MacDonald has appointed Giles Hewson as director responsible for its UK highways design services business. He will lead a team of highways, structures, stakeholder engagement and specialist services professionals on high-profile commissions for Highways England and Transport Scotland in the UK, as well as major international projects.
A chartered landscape architect, Giles has nearly 25 years’ experience in design, environmental impact assessment coordination and development consent order examination processes. He joined Mott MacDonald in 2005 and has led the consultancy’s highways environmental business since that time.
Commenting on his appointment, Giles said: “I am looking forward to leading our highways design capability. There is currently a real opportunity to help drive collaboration across the highways sector in delivering the UK Government’s ambitious roads investment programme.”
