Mott MacDonald has appointed Martin Revill as projects director in Leeds, UK. Martin will focus on developing the growing transport planning capability in the consultancy’s Leeds office, which offers services to clients across Yorkshire and the north east of England.
Martin is a highly experienced transport planner and chartered member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), with 30 years’ experience working within local and sub-national government as well as in consultancy roles with public sector clients. His career has focused on transport policy and strategy development, transport appraisal and business case advice, transport investment funding and wider transport economics and passenger transport. He joins Mott MacDonald from JMP Consultants/SYSTRA, where he was market director for local transport. Prior to this, Martin spent 16 years in local government, including as head of transport planning for the City of York Council. During this time, he led the production of the city’s first local transport plan.
Martin’s recent project highlights include several high-profile commissions leading the prioritisation, audit and assurance of transport investment proposals in local growth fund programmes in north east England, Swindon and Wiltshire and the Humber. This builds on his work over the last decade in prioritising transport investment supporting economic growth and regeneration, initially through the regional funding allocations process in Yorkshire and the Humber and in the east of England.
Commenting on his appointment, Martin said: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Mott MacDonald’s transport planning offering in Leeds. There is a very talented team here and I’m looking forward to helping the business grow and develop to help our clients and partners deliver their transport investment plans and wider economic, social and environmental objectives.”
Alan Holcroft, Mott MacDonald’s global practice leader for transport planning, added: “Martin’s appointment marks an exciting period of development for our transport planning specialism. He brings significant experience in delivering value to local government transport projects and will provide further expertise and knowledge to our clients in the region.”
