Mott MacDonald has appointed Sean Horkan as head of strategic asset management for transport. In his new role, Sean will support transport infrastructure clients to get the most from their assets, organisation and supply chain.
Sean joins Mott MacDonald from High Speed 1 (HS1) where he held the role of chief operating officer. During his role at HS1, Sean redefined HS1’s role as a Capable Owner in order to deliver on for an £80million budget to work with suppliers to deliver operational performance, robust engineering of the £6billion infrastructure and ensuring that the whole life cost of the assets reduces over the life of the concession.
Prior to his role at HS1, Sean held the roles of chief engineer and masterplan and capacity director at Heathrow Airport. In these roles Sean developed the 2 and 3 runway master plans and defined the capital investment plan for 2008 to 2018.
