Mott MacDonald has appointed Steve Godman as its rail leader in Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, Steve will be responsible for the leadership, development and growth of the consultancy’s rail team across Australasia.
A chartered civil engineer, Steve has 30 years’ experience of winning and delivering multidisciplinary design projects, primarily in the rail sector. He joined Mott MacDonald in 2015 and has previously acted as track business leader for the consultancy’s UK railways team, as well as rail systems lead for Transport for London’s Northern Line Extension.
Steve’s relocation to Australia will support Mott MacDonald’s rapid growth in Australasia, where it has a market-leading transport portfolio. Some of the consultancy’s current rail projects include Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro, Inland Rail in Brisbane and the expansion of Auckland’s rail network.
Commenting on his appointment, Steve said: “I’m delighted to be taking up this role having spent much of the last year working on bids in Australia and New Zealand and building relationships with key clients. I’m looking forward to the challenge of continuing the technical development and growth of the team as we respond to and deliver against a truly unique set of opportunities that exist across the region.”
