Mott MacDonald has helped O3b Networks achieve US$460 million in incremental financing to support the company’s growth plans.
O3b Networks is a global satellite service provider operating a next-generation satellite network for telecommunications operators, internet service providers, enterprise and government customers in emerging markets. The funding will be used to expand the total number of satellites in O3b’s constellation from 12 to 20, which will accommodate the growing connectivity demand for communication applications.
Acting as lenders’ technical advisor since 2009, Mott MacDonald has carried out technical due diligence on O3b’s satellite system and overall operations. The consultancy has also assessed the potential risks and technical aspects that could affect the cost, schedule and performance of the system.
