Mott MacDonald has become an official member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) – the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative – joining a growing community of more than 9800 businesses and over 4000 non-businesses across 164 countries.
The UNGC is a voluntary initiative for companies committed to environmentally and socially responsible business practices, based on 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. It encourages businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation.
As a member of the UNGC Mott MacDonald has publicly committed to integrating the 10 principles into its strategy, culture and day-to-day operations, and to engage in collaborative projects which advance progress towards UN goals, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will then report on its progress by describing the practical actions it has taken to implement the goals and the outcomes of these.
The consultancy is continuing to support the SDGs through integrated reporting on its website. This highlights how it is addressing the SDGs in the areas which are central to the company: the projects and communities it works in its business; and its people.
