COVID19 is the biggest challenge to face people, businesses and governments for a generation. Like everyone, we are concerned by daily reports of those who have been affected and our thoughts are with them, their families and their friends. It makes it even more crucial that all of us keep up to date on the latest developments and continue to take advice from governments in the regions we work and from the World Health Organisation.
At Mott MacDonald ensuring the safety of our colleagues, their families and the broader community remains paramount, as does our support to our clients. Over the past two months we have been reviewing and responding to the changing situation to protect our people as much as possible, taking precautionary measures to minimise both infection and business disruption – and this will continue.
We have implemented our continuity plans and so far are not seeing any significant immediate impact on our ability to deliver our services, but we accept that things are likely to get more difficult in the coming weeks. We took the decision two years ago to invest heavily in our IT systems and technology capabilities to enable our business and people to be even more agile. This means that the majority of our colleagues can work from home and it is still business as usual.
Through the mature collaborative relationships we have with many of our clients and partners in our industry, we’re identifying things we can all do. We all have the belief and confidence that together we will get through this by taking concerted actions to keep our people well and our businesses focused to maintain productivity.
