Mott MacDonald’s Group people director Tania Heap has been appointed to the board of the UK’s Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE). She will lead the ACE’s human resources taskforce, a two-year initiative that will engage with members to understand the issues that affect both staff and the wider industry.
The taskforce will work to establish and encourage best practices for addressing the challenges staff within the consultancy and engineering sectors currently face, such as increasing diversity, tackling skills shortages and the impact of the UK’s departure from the European Union. It will also serve to inform the ACE’s representation of members to external organisations and policy-makers in government.
Tania’s career in human resources has taken in a diverse range of sectors after starting out in financial services. Since joining Mott MacDonald over twenty years ago, she has worked with a range of teams in the consultancy and is now a member of its senior management team. Tania has been an active member of ACE during this time, providing advice to members and attending its board meetings for the last ten years.
Commenting on her appointment, Tania said: “The creation of this taskforce is a great opportunity to increase dialogue amongst members and the industry. I want to help all ACE members, wherever they are in the UK and whatever the size of their workforce, to make use of their extensive collective experiences. Some challenges are too big to face alone. However, by pooling our knowledge we can find the resources and expertise to address them and allow the many voices in the industry to be heard.”
