Mott MacDonald has appointed Professor Denise Bower OBE to its executive board as its Group external engagement director. She will be responsible for the company’s client and partner relationships, thought leadership activity and driving improvements in the delivery of major projects.
Mike Haigh, Mott MacDonald executive chair, said "Denise has been working with us for almost four years as an independent member of the shareholder committee and I am delighted she is now joining our executive board. For many years Denise has been a champion of the need for improved project delivery, something close to our hearts here in Mott MacDonald. We wish Denise the very best in her new role.”
Denise has had an impressive career in the infrastructure industry. She is very well known through her role as the executive director of the Major Projects Association and as Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds. Denise is a member of the Infrastructure Client Group and works closely with the Infrastructure and Projects Authority to improve major project preparation and delivery through Routemap Ltd. She has worked with numerous sponsor and client organisations, helping to shape major projects and programmes.
Denise Bower said, “I have enjoyed my time at the Major Projects Association immensely as its mission to improve the initiation and delivery of major projects is so very important in an uncertain world. Through my work at the University of Leeds and Routemap Ltd. I have had an amazing opportunity to make a positive contribution to a sector that benefits economies, societies and the environment. I am delighted to be joining the Group board of Mott MacDonald to build on these experiences and work closely with my new colleagues to work with our clients and partners in an inclusive and socially responsible way.”
