Job Description

Join us and be part of something bigger.

As a graduate risk analyst, you will step into a dynamic and supportive environment where your ideas matter, your growth is nurtured, and your work contributes to projects that shape the future. You will be part of a growing, diverse team that’s embedded in every stage of the project lifecycle.

In this context, risk management is about helping project teams make better decisions in the face of uncertainty. It means identifying what could affect project outcomes, understanding the potential impact on cost, schedule, quality, safety and stakeholder confidence, and working collaboratively to put proportionate actions in place. Done well, risk management is not a separate process; it is an integral part of successful project delivery, enabling teams and clients to anticipate challenges, seize opportunities and deliver with greater confidence.

We believe in building careers with purpose. You’ll be empowered to learn, lead, and make a meaningful impact across industries and communities.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement robust risk management strategies.

  • Support day-to-day risk activities including analysis, reporting, and facilitating risk reviews.

  • Engage in all phases of project delivery, from early design and optioneering to construction and close-out.

  • Work on high-profile projects in Defence, Energy, Transport, Water with clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, United Utilities, East West Rail, Heathrow Airport, Babcock International, Thames Water, Highways England, HS2, and more.

  • Contribute to the development of innovative risk and value management solutions that drive project success.

  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, promoting transparency, accountability, and shared success.

What You’ll Gain

  • Supportive Mentorship: Learn from experienced professionals who care about your development.

  • Inclusive Culture: Be part of a team that celebrates diversity and values every voice.

  • Career Growth: Gain exposure across sectors and disciplines, building a strong foundation for your future.

  • Wellbeing Focus: Work in an environment that prioritises your mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

  • Societal Impact: Contribute to projects that improve infrastructure, enhance safety, and benefit communities.

This opportunity will require you to be eligible to achieve security clearance.  Security clearance is dictated by the types of projects we work on and normally requires you to be a UK British national or lived in the UK for five years or more.

UK Immigration

Mott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK. This decision is as a consequence of the changes made to the Skilled Worker route by the UK Government in April 2024.

Our ethos is to develop, train and retain our graduates and therefore we are looking for a long-term relationship with our graduates. For this reason, we cannot accept applications from candidates who would be working under the Graduate visa route or other time-limited visas, (irrespective of visa duration), due to their temporary nature and the requirement for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route in future.

We continue to welcome applications from candidates who are eligible for alternative immigration routes in the UK, that do not require sponsorship as a Skilled Worker now or in future.

AI Usage

At Mott MacDonald, we see the value AI can bring, but we take a people-first approach to hiring. While AI tools can help candidates prepare and build confidence, every application and hiring decision is reviewed by our recruitment and hiring teams. We encourage the responsible use of AI while ensuring we get to know the real person behind the application.
