Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage complete GST compliance across the organization.
- Lead and manage end‑to‑end indirect tax litigation in India including departmental audits, investigations, enquiries issued by GST and other indirect tax authorities.
- Evaluate existing compliance practices and develop efficient, cost-effective GST strategies and processes.
- Ensure timely implementation of all updates and amendments in GST laws.
- Provide strategic guidance to the business on GST implications during bidding stages for domestic and cross-border transactions, including those involving group entities and external clients.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the GST compliance team by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and delivering constructive feedback.
- Keep the finance team updated on GST law changes through regular knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Build organizational awareness regarding GST compliance requirements and expectations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of GST processes and procedures.
- Assist the Manager in reviewing Internal Financial Controls related to GST compliance.
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely support for GST-related requirements during statutory and internal audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all GST-related general ledger accounts monthly.
Essential Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with experience in indirect taxation, specifically GST, in a reputed organization (preferably within the services sector) or a Big Four firm.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams.
- Strong analytical thinking with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English (both written and spoken).
- Willing to travel across India for business needs.
- Adaptable to a dynamic work environment and able to work extended hours during peak periods.
