About the Role

Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy. We are seeking an accomplished and highly respected Client Director – Transport to further strengthen and grow our Transport business in Singapore. This is a senior leadership position for an individual who combines exceptional client engagement and business development capability with substantial technical, project delivery, and industry experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in deepening strategic client relationships, shaping, and securing major opportunities, and maintaining excellence in the delivery of complex transport and infrastructure projects.

Working across Mott MacDonald’s Singapore business and wider global network, the Client Director will connect clients with the best of our local and international expertise. The role will champion client centricity, technical excellence, collaborative delivery, digital innovation, and sustainable outcomes—priorities that align with the growth strategy for Singapore’s Transport business.

The position is intended to strengthen both upstream relationships with public-sector project owners and downstream relationships with design-and-build contractors, while supporting focused growth in areas where Mott MacDonald has relevant capability and experience.  The Singapore Transport strategy places particular emphasis on strategic client relationships, focused bids, early engagement, digital delivery, sustainability and collaboration with design-and-build contractors.

Key responsibilities 

The Client Director will provide client, market, and technical leadership across Mott MacDonald’s Transport portfolio in Singapore. 

• Building trusted, long-term relationships with senior decision-makers in government agencies, infrastructure owners, delivery partners, and contractors.
• Translating market and client insight into a strong pipeline of achievable opportunities.
• Leading and supporting the pursuit of strategically important commissions, from early positioning through proposal development, negotiation, and award.
• Providing visible leadership and governance for the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
• Bringing together multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Developing people, strengthening technical capability and sharing knowledge across the organisation.
• Upholding the highest standards of professional integrity, quality, safety, commercial discipline, and risk management.
• Undertaking Qualified Person responsibilities where required and professionally appropriate, is important but not an essential requirement of the role.

What You’ll Bring 

• Significant experience in the planning, design and delivery of major transport and infrastructure projects.
• A substantial track record of successfully leading complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in Singapore.
• Significant experience working with major public-sector, contractor and infrastructure clients.
• A strong professional reputation and established senior relationships with government agencies, infrastructure owners and other upstream clients.
• Credible and productive relationships with major contractors, particularly those involved in design-and-build delivery.
• Proven success in client development, strategic positioning, opportunity pursuit, bid leadership and the preparation of high-quality proposals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory environment, engineering standards, authority submission processes and accepted industry practices.
• Strong practical understanding of how major infrastructure projects are designed, procured and constructed, including experience across feasibility, design, contract documentation, construction supervision and completion.
