About the business unit
The Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.

Overview of the role

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our rapidly expanding Facilities Management consultancy service. This is a truly exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and growing FM Advisory team to help transform the built environment.

The built environment is changing at rapid pace, with greater digital innovation changing the understanding of building performance and demand for greater efficiency and flexibility in the way spaces can be used. Mott MacDonald’s team of Facilities Management consultants provide technical and commercial advice on these very challenges to a wide range of public and private sector customers. We are currently experiencing strong demand for our expertise and are looking to grow the FM team to work on projects throughout the UK, Ireland and globally. Will you join us?

Ideally with experience of the Built or FM market, we are looking for you to support our FM team through all stages of the asset life cycle to achieve strategic objectives by adding long-term value and optimising performance, to benefit end users. This includes supporting operational FM teams, contributing to procurement activities, assisting with asset management improvements, and developing skills in areas such as CAFM, lifecycle planning, cost analysis, and benchmarking.

You will be supported through structured development, mentoring, and opportunities to work towards professional qualifications (e.g. IWFM, RICS, APM).

This role may also be suitable for military service leavers with transferable skills/relevant experience.

  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Curiosity and a strong motivation to learn and build a career in FM advisory
  • Ability to prioritise and manage tasks
  • An analytical thinker and problem-solving attitude

  • Knowledge of Government Soft Landings is advantageous
  • Educated to degree level
  • Writing technical specifications
  • Working knowledge of relevant ISO standards
  • An interest in working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. IWFM, RICS, CIOB, APM)
  • Experience and understanding of asset modelling and management systems
  • An understanding of / interest in technology in use in FM, and / or digital construction

We are actively recruiting a diverse workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve. We recognise that differences in ability, skills and experience are a strength and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
