About the business unit
Mott MacDonald’s support services are the driving force behind our organisation enabling us to run efficiently and effectively. The team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice, best practice and technology to all areas of our business specifically designed for our global reach.
Overview of the role
Working closely with the IT Operations Centre Management, the Security Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the 2nd/3rd line IT Support Service for security related items.
This role will be based in one of our Global IT Operations Centre based in either Chennai or Newcastle. The Security Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Security employees are fully focused on ensuring that security threats are managed and prevented to ensure the integrity of the Mott McDonald IT estate. They are also to maintain high levels of customer service while adhering to Mott MacDonald's policies and procedures.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Secuity Operations Management: Manage and monitor operational security activities covering OLAs, SLTs in line with our KPI’s
- Security Policies and Procedures: The Security Operations manager establishes and enforces security protocols, policies, and procedures to protect lives and property
- Emergency Response: Educating employees on emergency response actions and ensuring safety regulations are followed
- Incident Management: Knowledge of ITIL methodology. Proficient in handling incidents, prioritizing tasks, and resolving issues promptly
- Incident Assessment: Assessing incidents to formulate strategies that prevent future occurrences. Review and collate incident analysis and service review activities to feed into service improvement initiatives and identify continual service improvements
- Breach Prevention: Offering recommendations to prevent future security breaches and to improve the security of the Mott MacDonald IT estate
- Leadership and Team Management: Managing a team of security analysts, assigning tasks, and ensuring productivity
- Motivational Skills: Inspire and guide team members to achieve goals and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment
- Customer Service: Deliver an outstanding customer experience by focussing on our employees needs and providing timely resolutions with clear and regular communication within the agreed SLA’s
Candidate specification
Essential:
- Experience managing people and high-performing teams
- Knowledge of basic IT Security threats and principles (Malware, Phishing, Vulnerabilities)
- Knowledge of IT security tools (Tenable IO, Nessus, Defender, Microsoft security consoles, Zscaler, SIEM, etc)
- Experience in handling issues related to permissions, security, access, active directory
- Experience of handling security incidents related to Microsoft cloud and Windows operating system environments
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
Desirable:
- Graduate or equivalent qualification in IT related discipline
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practices
- Experience of using Service Now or Remedy (or equivalent)
- ITIL V3/V4 foundation certification
- Experience of working in a global organisation
