Your Opportunity 

We are searching for a Drainage/Flooding Engineer to join our Water team in Sydney to support the multiple projects that are currently being delivered and for future projects we will be working on. 

 

 In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, design and document work to an industry-accepted standard by undertaking hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and calculations 
  • Assume responsibility and assist in management of medium and large-scale projects. This will include tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets 
  • Understand risk and the need to use their contractual and commercial acumen 
  • Preparing inputs into engineering reports, specifications and other supporting design documentation 
  • Preparing design outputs for the preparation of industry-standard design drawings 
  • Working with junior engineers to mentor and complete engineering works as required 
  • Working within client requirements and established industry practices 
  • Working as ‘Project Leader’ as required, ensuring that projects are delivered to programme, budget and the standard required 
  • Act as ‘Technical Specialist’ to provide clients with expert technical advice and solutions in area of expertise 

 

 

About You 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering 
  • 7-10 yrs of post graduate experience in drainage/flooding design of medium-large scale infrastructure projects 
  • Knowledge of ARR, Austroads drainage guidelines and Australian Standards applicable to drainage infrastructure essential 
  • High level of motivation and dedication, an appetite for fast-paced major projects, and the ability to work in a team environment and under pressure 
  • Experience with supervising and mentoring younger staff 
  • Experience using 12D and/or DRAINS, TUFLOW essential 
  • Experience using MUSIC essential 
  • Experience using GIS (eg. MapInfo or ArcGIS), WBNM, RORB, RAFTS and HEC-RAS highly preferred
