About the business unit 
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Overview of the role

Join our Gateway Infrastructure team within our Aviation & Ports Division as a Senior Civil Engineer and help shape the future of some of the UK's most critical transport hubs.

From major airport expansions and airfield infrastructure upgrades to innovative port developments and maritime facilities, you'll work on challenging projects that leave a lasting legacy. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where your technical expertise is valued, your leadership is encouraged, and your ideas help drive meaningful outcomes for clients and communities alike.

Join our Gateway Infrastructure team and contribute to the delivery of industry-leading infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to shape your own career by leading the design and delivery of projects ranging from airside and landside airport infrastructure to port terminals, and associated energy infrastructure.

You'll work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve passenger and freight movements and capacity, and support the transition to more sustainable transport networks. Whether supporting strategic masterplanning, undertaking detailed design / design management, or providing technical leadership throughout project delivery, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of aviation and maritime infrastructure.

Candidate Specification
We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Senior Civil Engineer who is passionate about infrastructure and thrives in a collaborative environment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic sector team.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Professional membership with ICE or another relevant institution, with Chartered status
• Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects within aviation, ports, transportation, infrastructure, or related sectors (experience within aviation & ports sectors is beneficial, although not essential)
• Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering and foundation design
• Experience managing project packages, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and engaging directly with clients and stakeholders
