Senior Façade Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Façade Engineer to join our Auckland team and help deliver high-quality building envelope solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial, aviation, education, residential and public infrastructure projects. You'll work alongside leading façade specialists while contributing to projects that shape Auckland and communities across New Zealand.

The role

As a Senior Façade Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design and delivery of façade and building envelope packages across multiple projects.
• Undertake façade engineering analysis, calculations and technical documentation.
• Review shop drawings, specifications and contractor submissions.
• Provide technical advice on glazing, curtain walls, cladding systems, roofing and weathertightness.
• Support project delivery, including design reviews, site inspections and construction monitoring.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, structural engineers and other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with New Zealand Building Code requirements and relevant standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposal and business development activities.

About you

We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

• A degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Building Engineering.
• Approximately 5–10 years' experience in façade engineering, building envelopes or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems including curtain walling, glazing, metal cladding, façades, roofing and waterproofing.
• Familiarity with relevant New Zealand standards and Building Code requirements, particularly structure, durability and external moisture.
• Experience delivering projects within a consulting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using digital engineering tools, with BIM and Revit experience considered advantageous.
• A commitment to technical excellence, quality and safety.
• Progress toward, or achievement of, Chartered Professional Engineer status or an equivalent professional accreditation.

Our Auckland façade team supports a wide range of projects, including airports, commercial developments, education facilities, residential towers, public buildings and major urban infrastructure projects. Examples include aviation developments, commercial office buildings, apartment developments and university facilities across New Zealand.
