About the role

The Senior MMS Engineer will be responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and management of the Maintenance Management System (MMS) to support effective asset lifecycle management. The role focuses on ensuring accurate asset data structuring, system integration, and seamless digital handover to operations teams. The position requires close coordination with engineering, construction, testing & commissioning, and facility management teams to ensure the system is fully functional, compliant, and aligned with operational requirements.

 

 

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, below:

  • Lead end-to-end implementation, configuration, and deployment of the MMS platform.
  • Develop and define asset hierarchy, taxonomy, and classification structures in line with industry best practices.
  • Establish standardized asset naming conventions, tagging systems, and coding structures.
  • Create and manage comprehensive asset registers covering all systems including architectural, MEP, and specialist systems.
  • Ensure all asset data is accurately captured, validated, and uploaded into the MMS.
  • Define asset attributes including equipment specifications, warranty details, spare parts, and maintenance history.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather and verify asset data during all project phases.
  • Integrate MMS with building management systems (BMS), SCADA, and other operational platforms where required.
  • Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies aligned with operational needs and recommendations.
  • Configure maintenance plans including schedules, task lists, frequencies, and resource requirements.
  • Support reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) analysis where applicable.
  • Prepare and implement data templates and standards for digital handover requirements.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning activities to verify asset performance and ensure accurate system data.
  • Ensure all commissioned assets are properly registered and functional within the MMS before handover.
  • Track and manage defects during commissioning and defect liability period using the MMS.
  • Develop MMS procedures, user manuals, and operational guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant asset management and quality standards such as ISO 55000.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and operations teams.
  • Provide training and technical support to end users and operations teams on MMS usage.
  • Support audits, inspections, and system acceptance processes.
  • Continuously improve data quality, system efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
  • Generate reports and dashboards for asset performance, maintenance activities, and system utilization.

 

 

Candidate specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in Maintenance Management Systems or Asset Management.
  • Experience in infrastructure, building, or rail-related projects is preferred.
  • Experience working in operational or brownfield environments is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms such as IBM Maximo, SAP PM, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and facility management practices.
  • Knowledge of asset lifecycle management and digital handover processes.
  • Familiarity with BIM integration and data environments is a plus.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and complex project environment.
  • Good communication and training skills
