Main Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for the overall control of project schedules, development and monitoring all planning/scheduling work being done.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Review Baseline Programme & advise keys risks to all stakeholders.
- Perform EOT claim analysis and determinations
- Draft Contractual letters and manage the correspondence trackers and assign the action owners
- Manage Electronic document management system and document controllers. Set up the systems implementation process for all submittals/snags & the like
- Prepare reporting formats for monitoring the KPIs.
- Perform risk management analysis and maintain risk registers
- Provide estimate of earned value analysis
- Coordinate with management to prepare presentations required for the Employer and higher/executive management.
- Integrate schedule requirements and constraints to establish work sequences for all disciplines or specialties.
- Develop monitoring reports and trackers for all stakeholders to track the submittals schedule.
- Review and assess the work sequences with the developed and agreed project plan
- Establish and implement methods of determining activity schedules within the project team
- Review and verify Progress S Curves, Cashflow (Earned Value), SPI, CPI, Activities KPI, manpower histogrammes, daily & periodical reports and the like.
- Review schedule data – identify and acquire information needed to complete work logics to interface between project teams.
- Determines critical-path activities for project milestones
- Identify significant supporting for all milestones and identify and develop critical path for each project team and activities.
- Monitor schedule deviations including subcontractor submittals; recommend corrective action/work-around any issues that may arise.
- Prepare schedule commentary appearing in progress reports.
- Clarify activities that have a critical impact on the schedule; prepare the critical items action report.
- Oversee all work being carried out by project teams and contractors to ensure compliance with the specifications of the project and contract.
Candidate specifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management /P6 and Primavera Contract Management/Expedition) and cost engineering with experience in UAE.
- Project management experience in planning, scheduling and cost engineering, including Primavera Project Management (P6), Primavera Contract Management (Expedition);
- Extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing and control from the project initiation to close out phases, utilizing computer-based systems (Primavera Project Management ‘P6’ & Primavera Contract Management ‘Expedition’), within the framework of an integrated project services function for the effective management of a wide range of concurrent projects, to meet the business plan objectives;
- Using latest version of Primavera Project Management (P6) and Primavera Web Scheduling software for monitoring and reviewing the baselines and updated project schedules and cost;
- Using latest version of Primavera Contract Management (Expedition) as Contract Document Management software to track Correspondences, Drawings, Submittals, Material & Equipment Procurement, Daily Reports, Transmittals, Minutes of Meetings, Bill of Quantities, Proposals, Requests for Inspection, Requests for Clarification, Change Orders, Invoices, Payment Requisitions and Snag Lists and linking the Project information in Primavera Contract Management to the Primavera Enterprise Schedule;
- Demonstrable experience in developing project wide work breakdown structures (WBS)
- Reviewing contractor’s work program submissions including all narratives and supporting information, and provides analysis and findings;
- Verifying actual progress and comparing actual performances to original plans;
- Monitoring, adjusting and updating the cost plan and cash flows accordingly and the consolidating of these results in PMC monthly reports;
- Estimating time element of change orders and submits his analysis to the Engineer and incorporating within the master schedule after authorization;
