Without the infrastructure to sustain and support society and business the world around us would look very different. From the water flowing from your faucet to your commute on a subway or light rail, the provision of infrastructure is critical to unlocking economic growth and managing the environment both now and for the future.
Andy Thompson is a major projects leader for the eastern United States. He has deep experience in program and construction management, design management, risk management, and contract administration for complex underground infrastructure.
His work spans water, wastewater, and transportation projects, with technical experience across soft-ground and hard-rock tunneling, shafts, tunnel boring machines (TBMs), drill-and-blast, roadheader/mechanical excavation, and ground treatment methods. Known for bringing practical constructability insight to major pursuits and active projects, Andy supports clients and project teams through procurement strategy, risk management, constructability review, and delivery oversight.
Andy has helped lead some of the region’s most technically demanding rail, highway, and water infrastructure programs. On the East Side Access project in New York, he served as program executive for heavy civil construction, leading a 300-person construction management team on a major rail program involving tunnels, caverns, shafts, systems, and extensive coordination with active railroad operations. He has also held senior delivery roles on major design-build tunnel projects, including the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion, the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel in Virginia and the Purple Line Light Rail in Maryland.
His recent work includes risk management and technical advisory services for transit and wastewater tunnel programs in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C., reflecting a career focused on helping major infrastructure projects move from complex planning and procurement into successful delivery.
We are looking for enthusiastic, inspiring, and committed people to join our growing team.
