Ashwin Maharaj

Ashwin is our electricity  networks market leader and electrical and controls engineering discipline leader across Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. He provides strategic leadership across the planning, delivery and operation of power systems in complex and rapidly evolving energy markets, helping clients navigate the challenges of decarbonisation and system transformation.

Ashwin brings deep technical domain expertise combined with a strong understanding of operations, commercial drivers and project delivery. His career spans government-owned and private utilities as well as consulting, with experience across engineering and design, EPC and construction management, commissioning, and asset management. He has led multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure programs, including transmission supergrids up to 765kV, renewable energy zones, grid-scale battery storage, and hybrid energy systems.

A chartered professional engineer and Fellow of Engineers Australia, Ashwin is recognised for his technical leadership, governance and collaborative approach. He is committed to delivering practical, high-quality solutions that support reliable and resilient electricity networks, while creating long-term value for clients, communities and the broader energy transition.
