Mark Ramsey

Mark Ramsey is a major projects leader for the Western US. He has over three decades of experience leading complex underground, heavy civil, and engineering projects across North America in transportation, water, and dam infrastructure. He has deep experience in alternative delivery models, including progressive design-build, design-build, construction manager/general contractor and public-private partnership delivery. 

Mark has held leadership roles on many of the West’s most significant transit, rail, water, and energy infrastructure programs. His recent work includes tunnel leadership and constructability oversight for major rail and transit programs in California, including the Sorrento Valley to San Dieguito Lagoon Double Tracking project, the BART to Silicon Valley Transit Extension Phase 2, the Portal (formerly known as the Downtown Rail Extension) in San Francisco, the Sepulveda Transit Corridor in Los Angeles, and the San Diego Regional Rail Corridor Alternative Alignment study. He has also served as project principal or constructability lead on major pumped storage and water infrastructure projects, including the White Pine Pumped Storage project in Nevada, the Hyatt Guard Valve project at Oroville Dam in California, and three other confidential pumped storage projects across the US. 

Mark brings practical insight into constructability, procurement strategy, risk management, estimating, scheduling, and project delivery. Before joining Mott MacDonald, he held senior leadership roles with HNTB and Kiewit Infrastructure, including serving as chief estimator for Kiewit’s Underground District, where he oversaw estimates and proposals across multiple contract models totaling nearly $6bn.
