Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Energy Client Director to lead and grow strategic relationships with priority oil and gas, midstream, pipeline, and natural gas facilities clients across Alberta and Western Canada. The role will be primarily focused on Western Canada, with the opportunity to support key client relationships and projects elsewhere in Canada where aligned with national account priorities.
The primary mandate is to develop clients and projects for our established pipelines and natural gas facilities team. This includes building long-term partnerships with major midstream operators, pipeline owners, shippers, producers, and industrial clients, and aligning Mott MacDonald's engineering and advisory capabilities with their capital programs and operational priorities.
The role will also identify opportunities to expand relationships into adjacent services, including power and electrification, carbon capture, major infrastructure, renewables, hydrogen, nuclear, and grid-related solutions. These areas represent a cross-sell opportunity that supports the core oil and gas mandate, rather than the primary focus of the position.
As a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, you will identify growth opportunities, shape client-focused solutions, and help Mott MacDonald respond to the rapidly changing Canadian energy market.
The ideal candidate is a commercially minded relationship leader with deep knowledge of Western Canada's oil and gas and midstream markets, strong executive presence, and a proven track record of growing strategic accounts. They are collaborative, client-focused, and passionate about building lasting partnerships that deliver value for clients and sustainable growth for the business.
Success will be measured not only by account growth, but also by the strength of the relationships built, the value created for clients, and the long-term strategic partnerships established.

Lead client development for pipeline, midstream, and natural gas facilities opportunities, supported by Mott MacDonald's technical and project delivery teams.
Identify cross-sell opportunities in adjacent areas such as power and electrification, carbon capture, major infrastructure, renewables, hydrogen, nuclear, and grid-related services.

Mentor project managers and client-facing professionals on key account management, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building best practices.
Represent Mott MacDonald at client meetings, industry conferences, regulatory forums, Indigenous engagement sessions, and professional associations.
Establish and manage client investment budgets, pursuit strategies, and strategic account development plans.
