Shape the Future of Australia's Data Centre Industry

As demand for digital infrastructure accelerates, we’re looking for a strategic, commercially driven leader to grow our Data Centres business across Australia and New Zealand.

Located in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane you’ll shape our national growth strategy, build relationships with influential clients and unite multidisciplinary expertise to deliver complex, high-value projects.

The Opportunity

As Data Centre Market Leader, you will drive portfolio growth across Australia and New Zealand by strengthening client relationships, identifying major opportunities, leading strategic pursuits and guiding project delivery.

Working across Buildings, Energy, Water, Environment, Defence, Digital and Transport, you will position Mott MacDonald as a trusted partner to hyperscalers, developers, operators and investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Australia and New Zealand growth strategy and annual business plan.
• Build relationships across the data centre ecosystem, including hyperscalers, developers, operators and investors.
• Identify priority opportunities and lead major pursuits, bids and capture strategies.
• Act as Project Principal on strategically significant projects, supporting successful delivery and enduring client partnerships.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership across power, water, resilience, sustainability, approvals and speed-to-operation.
• Bring together sectors and disciplines to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Strengthen our value proposition, go-to-market approach and industry positioning.
• Grow a high-performing Data Centres community and leverage our global network to build local capability.

What You'll Bring

You will bring technical credibility, commercial acumen and strong relationships within the data centre sector.

You'll likely have:

• Significant experience leading major data centre projects, programmes or portfolios.
• Established relationships within the Australian data centre market.
• A strong record of delivering growth strategies and winning major projects.
• Strong commercial, business development and senior client engagement skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing capability.
• The ability to operate as a trusted advisor and create long-term client value.
