Mott MacDonald is currently seeking an experienced early career professional with a demonstrated capability in Bus or LRT infrastructure projects to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to continue your professional development in a transit context, working on some of the most exciting transit infrastructure investments being made in the region. In this role you can expect to contribute to transit and urban mobility projects including LRT, BRT, Transportation buildings and other integrated urban mobility projects across Canada.  You will contribute to the Mott MacDonald team through thoughtful delivery of planning,design and project deliverables in the transportation sector, collaboration and sharing with other developing and junior staff, and to Mott MacDonald’s commitment to excellence.     

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Planning, organizing, coordinating, and working with technical and management groups in the delivery of a range of transit and urban mobility projects

  • Collaborating with teams of engineers and technicians to complete project deliverables on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction

  • Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met

  • Supporting the development of proposal responses

  • Project specific field work – oversight, review, inspections

  • Maintaining industry knowledge of current standards and procedures

  • Acting as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing our brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally

  • Participating in an innovative, challenging, collaborative and high performing work environment, which supports the use of digital tools and technology and fosters the Mott MacDonald values and culture

 

Candidate Specification:

Our team of professionals provides innovative engineering solutions for the North American transportation and infrastructure industry with unprecedented success. We’re looking for an individual to join our team to continue this traction and invite applications from candidates with:

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering

  • Registered with APEGA and in good standing (or the ability to obtain a P.Eng (or EIT) designation in Alberta within 12 months)

  • 3-5 years of industry experience in the transit, transportation buildings, or other transportation sector contributing to urban mobility.

  • Experience delivering design of transit, rail or urban mobility projects, or elements thereof.

  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary design efforts for transit, rail or urban mobility projects.

  • Knowledge and understanding of industry procurement models

  • Familiar with relevant industry standards and design criteria – rail, rail systems, transportation, civil

  • Track design experience is considered an asset

  • Experience with Autodesk applications such as AutoCad and Civil 3D is considered an asset

  • Well-developed written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to foster strong working relationships with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients

  • Incorporates health, safety and wellbeing in all that you do

  • Ability to work in a team environment – in person and remote

  • Willingness to travel to and work on project sites up to 50% of the time (Edmonton or Calgary)

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is from $82,000 - $103,000
