We are seeking a CEI Senior Construction Inspector for roadway and bridge inspection projects. This position will be in Orlando, FL.. Duties will include but may not be limited to:
- Responsible for coordinating and managing lower level inspectors
- Traveling to various project sites to conduct oversight, inspection and testing duties
- Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests and producing and maintaining all records per required procedures..Computing quantities for items including but not limited to concrete, asphalt, steel, earthwork, drainage components, and traffic control devices, signing and pavement marking, signalization components and lighting components
- Operating company vehicle, computer, and testing equipment
- Communicating effectively to coordinate and address construction progress and issues with with engineers, contractors, utility agency owners , government officials, clients and relevant stakeholders
- Performing effective Quality Assurance/Quality Control: For QA must be familiar with the provisions and procedures of the contract documents and the approved QCP. FOR QC ensuring compliance with the contract documents through direct observation of construction operations, examination of completed construction, sampling and testing of materials, and review of records to verify compliance with instructions for those records.
- Documenting field changes and as-built plans
- Assisting project engineer with progress payments, diaries, and material test reports etc
- Working in an office or outdoor environment in varying weather conditions as required by project type
We invite applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Or a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution and ability to obtain the above qualifications in a reasonable amount of time.
- Eight (8) years of experience in construction inspection, four (4) of which are preferred in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection.
- Must have the following certifications as required by a general CEI Scope of Work for a project:
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP Final Estimates Level 2
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection (Bridges)
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection, Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations
- FDOT Intermediate MOT with intent of obtaining FDOT Advanced MOT
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
- Intention of obtaining CTQP Quality Control Manager
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
