Responsible for supporting and guiding Project Managers and Project Teams within the business to drive positive revenue performance and maximize profit. Be able to work with the Unit teams to interpret metrics and KPIs and to be able to set up methodologies for the Unit teams to track metrics and KPIs.  May be leading a team of Project Accountants.  Required to make decisions independently and is able to use advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices.

Duties of this position and the staff that this position will lead will include, but not be limited to:

  • Be able to lead the implementation of a finance project or Program using appropriate methodologies.
  • Strong Project finance/accounting skills with a focus on supporting project managers during project setup, budgets, funding, margin expectations, and resourcing within Connect Business (current MM ERP)
  • Where requested, assist in proposals to ensure Group required ROI metrics are being achieved
  • Risk contingency analysis and monitoring support
  • Contract review – financial section specific
  • Change order review, tracking and entry
  • Review subconsultants financial data, review invoices and track budget
  • Billing coordination, review of invoices and manage workflow to improve DWCO
  • Analysis of working capital to ensure WIP billed and debts collected will drive positive cash
  • Client coordination on financial compliance, invoice submission & timely payments
  • Tracking budget against plan, reviewing cost, analyzing non-billables, review of credit memos
  • Revenue recognition evaluation, earned value trending, forecasting, and compiling other key project indicators
  • Support monthly progress reviews – financial perspective
  • Financial reporting on revenue from projects and working capital to Unit leadership
  • CRM data mining and maintenance support for Unit leadership
  • Reconciliation in Connect Business as needed
  • Support of project claims as needed
  • Internal and external audit support
  • Project close out process in Connect Business
  • Work with Unit / Division leadership to support and drive major KPI’s
  • Where requested, attend commercial review meetings to evaluate financial performance
  • Explore opportunities for automation and use of digital tools for improved efficiency
  • Be able to implement business analytics dashboards such as PowerBI Dashboards,  Power automate, Power apps and other tools for Business Process Automation
  • Effective communication, detailed oriented, time management and able to problem solve
  • Candidate must be a team player; flexible and willing to travel

 

Candidate Specification:

We welcome applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • BS or BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • CPA, CGA, CMA, FCCA license or equivalent desired
  • 12-15 or more years of corporate accounting experience, specifically with project accounting
  • Experience within the industry preferred
  • Management experience, supervising and coordination of responsibilities
  • Effective communicator with good presentation skills and leadership qualities
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Advanced Level))
  • Proficiency with business analytics tools

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position in Arlington is $113,850 - $139,150.

The expected salary for this position in Chicago is $106,821 - $130,559.
