Your role

 

  • Be integral to the pavements and geotechnical engineering team to lead and support national and international pavement engineering projects.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and provide input to new bid opportunities.
  • Develop technical design reports and drawings to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate technical understanding of flexible and rigid pavement design in accordance with Austroads and state/local government design guidelines.
  • Provide strong technical skills in road civil design and pavement engineering, with a high-level understanding and experience in the following: 
  • Austroads empirical and mechanistic empirical design procedures 
  • Austroads rigid pavement design procedure 
  • Pavement rehabilitation design of flexible and rigid pavements 
  • Pavement construction practices and application of construction specifications 
  • Tunnel pavement, haul road, rail and aviation pavement design experience is desirable 
  • Develop geotechnical/pavement investigation briefs and interpretation of geotechnical reports and laboratory test results.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Perform engineering duties as a registered professional in accordance with the Professional Engineers Act.

 

Essential

 

  • Chartered Civil Engineer (CPEng) with Professional Registration in Victoria (RPEV) and Victoria (RPEQ).
  • Familiarity with relevant Victorian and interstate standards.
  • Able to carry out complex pavements design with limited supervision from senior team members.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure to meet competing deadlines.

 

Desirable

 

  • Pavement design experience in highways, tunnels, ports and intermodals, haul roads, rail and aviation are desirable.
  • RIW competencies for MTM and ARTC.
  • Strong external relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience and willingness to mentoring and/or managing junior staff.
