We're looking for an experienced Technical Director Security (SCEC Consultant) to help lead and grow our Defence and Security business across Australia.

This is an opportunity to influence nationally significant projects, work alongside highly regarded technical specialists and play a key role in shaping secure environments that support Australia's defence capabilities and critical infrastructure.

 

The Opportunity

 

As a Technical Director, you'll be a recognised leader in security engineering, providing trusted advice to Defence, government and critical infrastructure clients on some of Australia's most complex and security-sensitive projects.

You'll combine technical excellence, strategic client engagement and people leadership to guide multidisciplinary teams, deliver outstanding project outcomes and contribute to the continued growth of our Defence and Security portfolio.

Whether you're leading the security solution for a major Defence facility, advising on secure infrastructure for critical assets, or mentoring the next generation of engineers, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

 

What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Leading the delivery of Defence, secure government and critical infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
  • Providing expert SCEC and security engineering advice across complex, high-security environments.
  • Building trusted relationships with Defence clients, industry partners and key stakeholders.
  • Driving technical excellence, governance and assurance across major programmes.
  • Supporting business growth through strategic pursuits, client engagement and market development.
  • Mentoring and developing engineers and technical specialists across the business.
  • Helping shape the future direction of Mott MacDonald's Defence and Security offering.

 

About You

 

You'll be an established security professional with a passion for delivering technically challenging projects and building long-term client relationships.

 

You'll bring:

  • Current SCEC Endorsed Security Consultant accreditation (Security Zone Consultant).
  • Extensive experience delivering Defence, secure government, critical infrastructure or other security-sensitive projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence security requirements, SCEC standards and security engineering principles.
  • A track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and business development skills.
  • An active NV1 security clearance (or higher).

 

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing project outcomes and helping others succeed.
