Prominent role secured on major Scottish local authority framework

Mott MacDonald has been appointed to the Scotland Excel Engineering and Technical Consultancy Framework (SETCF), securing a place on eight service lots on the renewed national framework for Scottish local authorities and eligible public sector bodies, placing first in five.
The four-year framework (2026–2030), with an estimated value of £160M, enables all 32 Scottish local authorities and over 90 public sector bodies to access engineering and technical consultancy services. When called upon, they will be supported by Mott MacDonald’s locally based teams spread across five Scottish offices, helping deliver infrastructure and asset investment aligned with Scotland’s Infrastructure Investment Plan, National Transport Strategy 2 and climate adaptation priorities.
The appointment builds on Mott MacDonald’s long‑standing relationships with Scottish local authorities, having been reappointed to successive iterations of the SETCF. Through the framework, it has supported Councils across Scotland on transport planning, flood risk management, bridges and transport structures, coastal and maritime infrastructure and wider infrastructure planning and delivery.

This has included work for City of Edinburgh Council across bridges, drainage and flood management, and support to Shetland Islands Council on the Fair Isle Ferry Terminal, progressing the project from business case to on‑site delivery.
