Biography

James is Mott MacDonald's technical director and global practice leader for social outcomes. He joined Mott MacDonald as a social researcher in 2010 after completing his PhD in politics and a period working in local government regeneration in his home city of Birmingham.

He is a recognised specialist in diversity and inclusion and impact assessment and has provided expertise in these areas on projects across the transport, water and built environment sectors in the UK and globally. He has provided Expert Witness at various public inquiries and hearings, helping to secure development of key infrastructure projects in London and across the UK.

In his current role James is responsible for safeguarding technical excellence in the social space, helping colleagues to collaborate and connect with our global social skills and service. He has played a key role in implementing the Mott MacDonald Group Purpose, aiming to inspire colleagues at all levels to focus on delivering positive social outcomes through our projects.
