Biography

Nicholas Robertshaw joined Mott MacDonald in 2002 and is a Chartered Civil Engineer with more than two decades of experience delivering major rail, metro and infrastructure programmes across the UK and the Middle East. He has led complex, high‑value infrastructure mega projects, including underground metro systems, station enhancements, tunnelling works, and strategic rail infrastructure. This work is often delivered through large, internationally distributed teams.

His experience spans the full project lifecycle, from early strategic advisory and masterplanning, through to detailed design, commercial management and programme delivery. Nicholas has contributed to some of the region’s most significant transit programmes, reflecting a long‑standing commitment to advancing rail and urban mobility. He is recognised for leading large, multidisciplinary teams spanning multiple countries and building stakeholder confidence. By navigating complex technical and commercial challenges, he has a track record of delivering programmes on schedule to exacting standards of quality and cost.

Nicholas now oversees transport and land development projects in Saudi Arabia, supporting the ambitions of Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s transformation into a global logistics hub. He is focused on ensuring projects are delivered with clarity, rigour and long‑term value.
