About the business unit  
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

 

 

Overview of the role

We are looking for a BIM Coordinator to join our Energy Networks team. This role will support the successful delivery of projects by undertaking a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to the tasks outlined below:

  • 3D BIM and AutoCAD solutions for various projects
  • Use and configurations of project Common data Environment (CDE’s)
  • Working from designer’s/engineer’s calculations and/or rough sketches and drawings
  • Producing accurate and structured drawings suitable for final issue
  • Producing fully co-ordinated sets of drawings/details
  • Discussing and resolving co-ordination issues with designers and civil/structural engineers
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of BIM execution plans
  • Network with other offices of Mott MacDonald

 

 

Candidate specification

Essential:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Professional experience in BIM modelling using Revit / Tekla / Allplan software
  • Experience in applying relevant design code requirements for Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel detailing
  • Familiarity with the principles of parametric geometrical modelling and computational geometry
  • Experience in other BIM software packages such as Navisworks Manage Civil 3D, Synchro, etc
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Working proficiency in any other major language is highly advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams

 

Desirable:

  • Availability to travel internationally, including for short secondments in other Mott MacDonald offices
  • EngTech TMICE or similar
