Mott MacDonald is looking for professionals to join our ever-expanding Transportation team to support our client, MTA Construction & Development (MTA C&D). We are currently looking for a full-time site Office Engineer with experience in the rail transportation and infrastructure industry. The successful candidate is required to have a strong understanding of the construction industry and experience working on public agency projects.
The Office Engineer (OE) is responsible for administrative and technical support activities related to program procurement and construction. The OE will also serve as a Field Inspector, providing quality assurance and continuous oversight of construction activities to verify compliance with the contract documents, approved plans and specifications, applicable codes, and MTA C&D requirements. Specifically, the OE manages varied project administrative functions, maintains contract records, plans and specifications, inspection documentation, and related engineering and administrative records, and provides overall support to the Project Manager’s project implementation team.
The OE would ordinarily be responsible for maintaining full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor's plans on assigned contracts, Project Implementation Manual and, current safety regulations relative to assigned projects in order to be knowledgeable of the contractor's obligations and the Project Manager's responsibilities with respect thereto. The OE shall supervise subordinates in disseminating such information to the office and field staff as required to keep all pertinent Authority personnel accurately informed of relevant matters. The OE would work within the Project Manager’s prescribed guidelines and procedures and serve under the direction of the Project Manager. The OE position requires very strong written and verbal communication skills.
