We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to support and lead design efforts across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, including rail and vehicular tunnels, water/wastewater facilities, and renewable energy systems. This role involves hands-on design, modeling, field inspections, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a passion for sustainable energy, and experience in transit-related electrical systems.

Job Requirements

  • Lead or support design engineering for infrastructure projects (rail/vehicular tunnels, water/wastewater facilities).
  • Model energy systems and renewable energy resources.
  • Perform lighting design and photometric calculations using AGI32 and ElumTools.
  • Prepare and review design drawings using AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and Autodesk REVIT.
  • Conduct field inspections and site surveys for electrical, instrumentation, control, AC power, and communication systems.
  • Develop detailed inspection and assessment reports.
  • Create Bill of Quantities and Costing documentation.
  • Assist in business development by preparing scope and cost proposals.
  • Travel up to 30% domestically for site inspections and client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university (or equivalent), Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two to four years of post-graduate experience.
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Technical Experience (minimum 2 years in each):

  • Lighting design and photometric calculations for transit facilities (stations, bridges, tunnels).
  • Design of low voltage substations, control rooms, and communication schemes.
  • Site surveys and inspections for electrical, AC power, and communication systems.
  • Drafting and photometric simulation using AGI32, ElumTools, Bentley MicroStation, and BlueBeam PDF.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk tools (AutoCAD 3D, REVIT, Navisworks), Microsoft Office, and collaboration platforms (MS Teams, Skype).
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70, 70E, 130, 502, OSHA, NESC, and IESNA standards.
  • Experience on large-scale transportation projects with tight deadlines.
  • Team collaboration across electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
  • Basic understanding of SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Power system modeling software experience (SKM or ETAP preferred).

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position is $79,000 - $90,000.
