Your Opportunity  

Due to exciting upcoming projects, we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to be part of our Buildings services team in Sydney. You will be joining a diverse team of people who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record of guiding our projects and clients, and leading the delivery across large reputed infrastructure projects.

 

You will:

  • Collaborating with other team members and actively participating in team meetings, discussions and technical presentation.
  • Performing non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity with no to limited guidance depending on complexity of the task.
  • Showing advanced skills in common software and applications for analysis and design.
  • Generating reports/calcs/sketches as required on tasks with limited to no guidance.
  • Presenting design and report to the clients.
  • Supporting construction services activities as required in the project including sequencing, inspections, and responding to RFIs.
  • Implementing and promoting digital design and BIM modelling in design delivery.
  • Managing multiple tasks in organised and structured manner.
  • Fundamental understanding of working on budget and timeline.
  • Contributing to recruitment, workforce planning and capability development initiatives.
  • Supporting strategic planning, technical practice development and knowledge-sharing activities across the Building Services business.
  • Delivering proposals, fee estimates and technical inputs for pursuits and bids.
  • Promoting innovation, sustainability and digital engineering practices in project delivery.

 

About you 

 

Desirable Experience and qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or demonstrable pathway towards chartership preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical building services design within a consulting environment.
  • Experience delivering complex projects across sectors such as aviation, health, education, commercial, life sciences or major infrastructure-related buildings.
  • Strong understanding of NCC, Australian Standards, energy efficiency requirements, smoke control and ventilation design principles.
  • Experience with Revit/BIM-enabled design delivery and mechanical engineering analysis tools.

  • Collaborative working style with multidisciplinary engineering teams. 
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical workflows to non-technical users. 
  • Comfortable working in an iterative, prototype-driven environment.
