We are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our Auckland Buildings team and play a key role in delivering innovative hydraulic services solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. 

The opportunity

Working as part of our multidisciplinary Buildings team, you will lead the design and delivery of hydraulic services across a range of projects throughout New Zealand.

You will work closely with clients, architects, contractors and fellow technical specialists to develop practical, sustainable and high-performing solutions that deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading hydraulic services design from concept through to detailed design and construction support
• Delivering water, sanitary drainage, stormwater and specialist hydraulic systems
• Managing project deliverables and maintaining high technical standards
• Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for future work
• Mentoring and supporting developing engineers
• Collaborating with local and global technical experts across the Mott MacDonald network
• Contributing to the continued growth of our Buildings business in New Zealand

About you

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience delivering hydraulic services design within the buildings sector
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand building codes, standards and industry requirements
• Experience working across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial or public sector projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering quality outcomes
• Chartered status, or progress towards chartership, is desirable
