About the role
As an Senior Structural Engineer based in Riyadh, you will support the design and delivery of building-structure projects across Saudi Arabia. You will work on mixed-use, commercial, residential, hospitality, aviation, sports and high-rise developments, progressing coordinated structural solutions through concept, schematic, detailed-design and construction-support stages.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, buildable and cost-effective solutions that meet project requirements, the Saudi Building Code, applicable international standards, programme, budget and quality objectives. The role includes reinforced concrete and structural steel design, technical delivery, design coordination, stakeholder engagement and construction support.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
Prepare structural design calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, technical notes, design risk assessments and other project deliverables.
Analyse and design reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry and foundation systems, considering relevant gravity, wind, seismic, temperature and settlement actions.
Develop safe, buildable and cost-effective structural schemes from concept and schematic design through detailed design and construction support.
Apply project-adopted Saudi Building Code requirements and applicable international standards, including ACI, AISC, ASCE and IBC.
Coordinate structural solutions with architecture, geotechnical, civil, MEP, fire and life-safety, façade, BIM and other specialist disciplines.
Review structural calculations, drawings, models, shop drawings and material submissions, and respond to contractor technical queries.
Support authority submissions and respond to comments from clients, approving authorities and other stakeholders.
Undertake site inspections and technical assessments to verify compliance with approved design information and project specifications.
Plan assigned activities and monitor delivery against agreed scope, programme, budget, resource and quality requirements.
Support continuous improvement and digital ways of working, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.

Candidate specification
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised institution.
Proven relevant post-graduate experience in structural design, preferably within an international engineering consultancy.
Demonstrable experience designing and delivering reinforced concrete and structural steel building structures through concept, schematic and detailed-design stages, with exposure to construction support.
Sound knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and applicable international standards, including ACI, AISC, ASCE and IBC.
Experience considering Saudi-specific design conditions, including seismicity, wind, high temperatures, durability exposure and authority requirements.
Competence in relevant structural analysis and design software, such as ETABS, SAFE, Robot Structural Analysis, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, RAM, Tekla Structural Designer or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Revit, BIM coordination processes and common digital collaboration platforms.
Strong English communication, planning, organisation, problem-solving and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate within multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.
Desirable
Chartered or equivalent professional status.
Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region.
Arabic-language capability.
